XHANCO developed two custom heat-resistant heat-seal films for Guangzhou Nanlian Air Catering Co., Ltd. (广州南联航空食品有限公司): a transparent laminated film and a paper-plastic composite film. Both passed oven testing at 220°C for 30 minutes. The paper-plastic film is now being supplied to and used by Nanlian.
Project overview
The requirement: develop the packaging around the heating process
For Nanlian's food-packaging application, the development brief combined heat sealing with a demanding oven cycle: 220°C for 30 minutes. XHANCO developed two film constructions for the customer and supplied samples for testing against that requirement.
The work covered both a transparent laminated film and a paper-plastic composite heat-seal film. Each was a custom development for Nanlian. Testing the proposed packaging under the specified heating conditions provided the basis for evaluating the samples.
Solution 1: transparent laminated film and an on-site food-pack trial
XHANCO developed a transparent composite packaging film specifically for Nanlian. The team then went to the customer's site to take part in the trial.
- A large bao bun was placed inside the developed film.
- The film pack was heat-sealed around the food.
- The sealed food pack was placed in an oven set to 220°C for 30 minutes.
- The trial passed, and the customer was satisfied with the result.
This gave the development team and customer a practical evaluation using the food pack, sealing step and oven cycle together. The case therefore includes a specific food-pack trial, in addition to the film-development brief.
Solution 2: paper-plastic composite film, tested and now in use
XHANCO also developed a heat-resistant paper-plastic composite heat-seal film for Nanlian. This film passed testing at the same confirmed oven condition: 220°C for 30 minutes.
The paper-plastic development has progressed from sample testing to customer use. XHANCO is supplying this film to Nanlian, and the customer is using it in its operation.
Two constructions and their confirmed project status

Test: 220°C for 30 minutes.
Trial detail: Large bao bun, heat-sealed pack and an on-site oven test attended by XHANCO.
Result: Passed, with positive customer feedback.
Paper-plastic composite film
Test: 220°C for 30 minutes.
Result: Passed.
Supply status: Being supplied to and used by Nanlian.
Planning a similar custom-film project
For a new airline-catering or food-packaging project, a useful starting brief describes the food, pack format, sealing equipment and heating process together. Include the oven setting and heating time, sample quantity, packaging dimensions, destination and expected order volume.
XHANCO can review those requirements with your team and discuss a suitable development and sample-evaluation plan. The RFQ worksheet and packaging trial record help organize the information before the first sourcing discussion.
